The Community Polytechnics scheme was started in 1978-79 and, after a two-year break during 2007 and 2008, it was relaunched in 2009 as the Community Development through Polytechnics (CDTP) scheme. It envisages providing non-formal, short-term, employment-oriented skill development programs through AICTE-approved Polytechnics, particularly for rural, unorganized & disadvantaged sections of society, enabling them to obtain gainful self/wage employment.
Students of CDTP Extension Centers prepared letters and gifts for AIDS patients in Kozhikode District. CDTP Chief Coordinator Sri. Suresh Kumar JS handed over the Gifts and letters to Jilla Panjayath President Mrs. Sheeja Sasi. The State’s leading media, including NEWS 18 Channel, covered this as a major story. It was also featured on the Public Relations Department Facebook page and District Panjayath updates.
