About Us

The Kerala Govt Polytechnic College, Westhill was established in 1946 , one of the oldest polytechnic colleges in Kerala. The college was inaugurated by the honourable Sri.V V Giri , BAR-AT-LAW , minister for industries and labour , Govt. of Madras on 23rd November 1946. Sri.Sreenivas Rao was the first principal. Over the years the intake of students increased and as of now with six full-fledged departments offering six engineering diploma programmes such as Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Tool & Die Engineering under the Department of Technical Education, Kerala.

The college has around 1200 students , 96 teaching staffs and 28 non teaching staffs. All the department of college are adequately staffed and well equipped to meet the needs of latest technological trends and international standards.
