Objective:
The placement cell aims to facilitate the process of placement and ensure that the students get placed in reputed companies with excellent packages. The cell also helps students develop their interpersonal and soft skills, enabling them to face the challenges in the corporate world.
Activities:
The placement cell conducts various activities such as seminars, workshops, guest lectures, mock interviews, group discussions, resume writing sessions, and personality development programs to prepare students for the recruitment process.
Industry tie-ups:
The placement cell establishes and maintains a strong relationship with industries, companies, and organizations to provide students with opportunities for industrial visits, internships, and final placements.
Placement records:
The placement cell maintains records of the students' academic and co-curricular achievements, along with their performance in the recruitment process, to ensure a smooth and transparent placement process.
Training and counseling:
The placement cell provides training and counseling to the students to enhance their employability skills, communication skills, leadership qualities, and team-building skills. It also helps students identify their strengths and weaknesses and assists them in choosing a suitable career path.
Alumni network:
The placement cell maintains a strong alumni network, which provides students with insights into the corporate world and helps them build professional connections.
KGPTC - PLACEMENT CAMPUS DRIVE SELECTION PROCEDURE
- Notification/Identification of Companies: The Training and Placement cell of the Kerala Government Polytechnic college-Kozhikode identifies companies that match the skill sets of its students and sends them an invitation for participation in the placement drive.
- Confirmation of Participation: The companies confirm their participation in the placement drive and provide the details of their job openings and the selection criteria.
- Pre-Placement Talks: The companies conduct pre-placement talks to introduce themselves, their job openings, and the selection process to the students.
- Eligibility Criteria Check: The placement cell checks the eligibility criteria of the interested students and provides a list of eligible candidates to the companies.
- Resume Submission: The eligible students submit their resumes to the placement cell for forwarding to the companies.
- Selection Process: The companies conduct their selection process, which typically includes tests, group discussions, and personal interviews.
- Selection Announcement: The companies announce the names of the selected students and the job offers made to them.
- Job Acceptance: The selected students inform the placement cell about their decision to accept or decline the job offers.
- Documentation and Joining Formalities: The selected students complete the necessary documentation and join the companies as per the joining dates specified by the companies.
